When I was not medicated properly and adding to that self-medicating with alcohol (and perhaps too much of prescription drugs as well). I isolated and was anything but easy to be around. And "one is the loneliest number you'll ever do."

I'm opening up in A.A. and N.A. meetings when I can make them, and I see where it does nobody any good to not engage and share with others, and particularily with those who have "been there, done that" with regard to addiction issues.

Drinking on the 4th of July

Jul 04 2012
In Southen California, Forest Lawn Mortuaries give you free coffee on New Uear's Eve!

I watched a friend of mine (alcoholic) give me a ride after having been in the hospital becauseof drinking, and he went right out and bought another bottle of vodka.  I think the guy is the greatest when he's sober, but when drunk, omg.

All I can do is pray for him.  Here it is the 4th and he is behind the wheel, and if he gets one more DUI, he loses his driving license forever.

I really do worry about the people on the road on Holidays...mostly the 4th of July and New years eve.
I have seen so many very bad burns on people that mix drinking and doing fireworks..
I will never forget when I was in my early 20's and my HB and I were in a bar and this guy set off a 1/4 stick of dynomite in the palm of his hand, his reflex wasn't good and the fuse was a bit short. He lost a few fingers right in front of me. And he was so drunk , he refused medical help. So you can imagine the bartender threw him out, because the mess had to be cleaned up...so stupid. And driving, they just don't understand how they actually are driving a machine and can possibly go to jail if in an accident and kills an innocent person...
You here about it all the time, you would think these people would learn by now...so sad to waste your life....
Hugs to you, I'm so proud of you..I quit drinking at 27 when I got pregnant with my son and never had a drink since then..YEA!!! Proud of us both..now if I could only stop smoking...lol...cigarettes.
