MDJunction to me

scotty04901"MDJ to me is an added phase in my recovery as a 44 year survivor of a TBI. I hope that with what I have lived through in those years, will be able to help all those who are just now going through. It is important to understand that even after 44 yrs, I am continuing to recover and to evolve. I just hope I can help others." (scotty04901)

Psoriatic Arthritis Journey

So much for daily entries. Oopsie! And this is no longer a PsA ride. It is an RA ride as of 9/3/09. Just another loop on the roller coaster that is my life. :P

Same Old, Same Old

Nov 11 2009

I am so bad.  I meant to use this diary every day, but I keep forgetting to write in it.  Oh well. :P

Everything is actually going pretty well at this point in time.  I only havemy final exam left to do and then I'll be finished with Art Appreciation.  I have about 3 weeks or so left of Calculus.  I'll take the final exam for it on December 7.  I'...

Blue Cross & Blue Shield Sucks!

Oct 16 2009

I've got to vent about this so I can get over it.

I called CVS/Caremark to see when they were going to send me the Humira pens.  The lady told me that they had not sent them yet because Blue Cross & Blue Shield would not approve the Humira for me until I had taken a standard DMARD treatment for 6 months.  My rheumy told me I had to do the DMARD treatment for...

I Love College!

Aug 20 2009

I love college!  I have had my first week of college this semester and I am so happy!  My Calculus teacher has started off reviewing algebraic functions before moving on to calculus itselfand I'm so glad he did.  I remember some of it from last semester, but I can use the refresher.  My teacher is great at explaining things slowly and in a way that makes it seem easy.&nb...

Back to School

Aug 18 2009

Last night was my first night of school for the Fall 2009 semester.  I'm taking Calculus on campus and Fine Arts Appreciation (or something like that) online.  I'm glad I got movedto a quiet development so I can work on homework at work when I get bored.

I'm so happy to be back in class.  I wasn't even nervous last night in Calculus.  I must be ge...

Saturday Afternoon

Aug 15 2009

Here I am again, playing online while my bf is taking a nap on the couch.  This week has gone by rather quickly and has been a Percocet week with a Flexeril chaser.  I'm not in as muchpain as I was a few weeks ago, but it's still enough that it distracts me and wears me slap out.

I took my Methotrexate pills Thursday night so that I wouldn't be so tired Friday. ...

Middle of the Week

Aug 12 2009

Well, it's the middle of the last week before I start classes for the fall semester.  My back is a whole lot better, but my neck, hips, and legs are making up for the relief from back pain.  I wonder if I have just had a 3 month flare or if the medicines I'm on are starting to work.  I do have pain every day, but it doesn't seem as intense as it did last month.

A Great Day

Aug 10 2009

I had a pretty good day today and I just had to share it!  I was stiff as heck when I got up this morning, but by this afternoon I didn't have too much pain.  My neck was bugging me, but nothing else was.  Of course, I came home and did laundry and dishes and now my hips are sore, but I actually got things done today.  I cleaned the bathroom and did the floors yesterday...

Life Is Good

Aug 08 2009

I must admit, my last diary entry was evil.  Thanks for the comments and for all the support.  I love this site!

I think I finally hit bottom shortly after that last entry.  I felt frustrated, totally misunderstood, and I was just plain feeling sorry for myself.  My poor mom and brother came up from Florida to visit and I was being so childish.  I'm so thankfu...

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Aug 04 2009

I am so damn pissed off right now and I know I probably shouldn't be, but dammit!  My mom and brother are visiting from Florida and my mom is helping me with the laundry.  I have beenin pain, but the pain isn't as strong as it has been and I have actually had brief periods with no pain.  Now I hurt like hell!  My legs ache and my hips are throbbing from bending over...

Hotter than Hades

Jul 28 2009

Ok, I know I said this was going to be daily.  I had every intention of writing daily, but then I got sidetracked.  :P  It happens to the best of us.

Today has been kind of strange.  I got up around 5 a.m. and got ready early so I would have some free time before leaving to go to work.  I didn't start hurting until almost 7 a.m.  I took a Percocet,...

Confusion

Jul 17 2009

Well, now I'm confused as all get out.  I went to the rheumatologist's office today and got a copy of the notes from my last visit.  The notes do state that the doctor believesI have psoriatic arthritis.  Then there is the mention of fibromyalgia....

In my head "What the hell?  Fibromyalgia?  I thought he said if I didn't respond to the...

Depression

Jul 16 2009

Today was a pretty boring day at work.  I had some pain, but it was bearable.  I got home and sat outside socializing and then came in and made salads for dinner.  The pain has gottenworse since I got home and my back is bugging the hell out of me.  I've taken 2 Lortabs tonight already.

Why does it seem like this pain is never going to go away?  The rheu...

One Week After the Diagnosis

Jul 14 2009

I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis on July 7, 2009.  I have had neck pain and some lower back pain after too much activity for a few years.  Over the past 8 or 9 months my tailbone has been hurting quite a bit.

In May 2009 I began to have a lot of back pain and my legs felt like they were throbbing.  After dealing with this over the course of 3 days and eating...
