In the middle of horrendous flare right before we drive 13 hours down to visit family this week. Sleeping in uncomfortable bed, unable to get up and take hot shower or anything I need to do to relieve some of the pain is going to be tough. Driving and driving, and driving will be even worse. Been strapped in on the rollercoaster ride of the past few months. We made it through the holidays, which is always easier for me as it is just the two of us, for the most part. I miss the kids, but there's only a 50/50 chance every year if I will be able to get stuff done or not. Thanksgiving went pretty smoothly, but I flared for 2 days over Christmas and it was pretty horrific. Finally! Had a good day AND was awake...so of course, did I get to go riding? No...the goats tore up the hotwire fence yesterday and ate all my morning glories off of the fence so I had to spend 5 hours mowing and fixing fence. I reinforced everything, got it all secured, put all the animals in their respective places and went to house for a pain pill...yes, I overdid it.

Had a couple good days and a couple not so good days. The fatigue is still dominating my life. I managed to get a round of sour dough bread made and some salsa canned this week. That’s not much compared to what I had planned to do. Haven’t been riding mostly because I am too tired and too weak to do it. Feel pretty darn good today! I was going to milk Emma last nite but Sushi broke out somehow and got to her first, so I locked HER in the lambing shed for the night. I had to get up at 5:30 this morningbecause they were both moo-ing away. Got my 2 gallons and a little more heavy cream than I really expected from her, which is ok, even though I don't need to be making butter yet. I still have a lot frozen from last lactation.

The pain is very tolerable lately but the fatigue is unreal. I can hardly stay awake. There isso much I want to do while I still feel good, but it is really hard to get up and move, and even harder to keep track. I have been able to sleep in the bed the past couple of nights and that is good. I am sick of that chair.

Slept part of the night in a bed last nite. It felt good to lay down after so many months. Myback and hips started to hurt about 2 am so I got up and went back to the chair. Not much pain this morning, which is great, but I am unbelievably tired and weak. I hate this. I want to do things and the house is making me crazy. Mild Monday

I had a pretty good day today. Yesterday there were thunderstorms and it must have triggered a flare because I was down all day. It was in the 70’s but I spent the day under a down comforter. Today all is well. I had to feed all the animals myself, because everyone is at the fire, wrapping things up. I finished making a romper outfit for Kinley and made some wholewheat bread with the grain I milled last week. I saddle [...]

Monday was a pretty good day, I rode Mister out past the cottonwoods didn’t get backuntil after dark. It was a great ride and mentally I felt better than I have in a very long time. I didn’t get the milking and feeding done until 10 that night but it was worth it.

Made it to town. Boss’ wife drove me. We left at 5 am and got back at 2 am this morning. A mere 21 hours...its worth it though, to live here. Only took a minute to get the shot. I was told I would notice improvement around Wednesday and it should help for about 3 months. Well, I do already notice improvement, my fingers aren’t snapping like they were, but last time it only lasted for about 5 weeks and the pain s [...]

long, long day

Was up all night. Pain, cold sweats, chills, hot flashes. Not menopause because I finished withthat 7 years ago. Flaring badly, hurts to use hands, hurts to even hold a cup of coffee. Last night my fingers and toes were so cold I had to take a hot bath at 3 a.m.

Flared big time today. Every inch of my body is rocked with pain. I can’t think and can’t remember what I was supposed to do today. Slept thru most of it. It was 90 out and I had to wear a sweatshirt and long pants and mittens because I was freezing and my hands were so cold they hurt something awful.

My hands hurt today, fingers popping out, but not so bad that I can’t use them. Ihave been trying to get things done today because I might not be able to do them tomorrow.

I actually slept in a BED last nite!!! I wasn't totally comfortable, but I wasn't in excruciating pain like the past 3 months. Randy was sweet and didn't wake me this morning, he knows I never sleep.

Didn't feel too badly today, cept maybe my hands and the tearing pain in my knee that comes so randomly. I decided to take today mostly for myself. I'm recovering well after pulling EmmaLouMoo out of the ditch. I am so lucky she is still alive. She's doing good and I [...]

Workin Solo this morning

I was up most of the night last nite with pain and discomfort. Randy left at 5 to go pick up hay for the winter. I managed to get the 6 gallons of milk replacer made and into the bottles and hauled it out to the corrals with the supplement for Emma and Mister. Em wanted her breakfast first and needed just a little milking out so I did her, locking Sushi in the small corral so she couldn’t get close to the calves that [...]

Usually I am good being by myself. I have the dogs and the critters for company, as they are non judgemental and always happy to see me. Randy doesn't talk so my conversations are always on paper, or with the animals, or just my heart talking to God. Sometimes though, it is hard. I have so many feelings inside that i cannot seem to hold and there is no one to listen...a real live face to face human being to bounce things off of. I miss my church and bible study. For obvious reasons [...]

Weight of the world...

Everyone has gone back home and I am exhausted. Hip pain is dimished some, but my hands are swelling and I can hardly pick anything up. They have gotten increasingly worse as the day wears on, thankfully, I milked Emma earlier today. I turned her and Sushi out in the big South pasture and so of course, I cannot find them now because its so big and the grass is so tall. If she does not come back tonite I will have to saddle a horse and go find her tomorrow.
