MDJunction to me

Kelti"MDJ has been a saving grace for me. It has taken from me that feeling of being so alone in the management of my Bipolar Disorder. I am not alone any more!! The friends on MDJ that I have made have kept me going. I am more at peace with myself now, thanks to all the people here on MDJ. I thank  God for each one of them.  MDJunction  is the place of Hope." (Kelti)

Our glorious advocates

May 09 2010

Hi everyone ;-)

It’s been a long long time since I last updated my diary. Too long, I guess I’m nearly failing :?

In about 10 days we will have some very excitingnews and updates (including the #1 asked for feature in MDJ history ;-) )  but before that I want to share with you some of the great stuff members of MDJunction have been doing to advocate and spread the word about their groups.

The list is beautiful and I have to admit that some of the ideas just blew me away.  I hope I didn’t forget anyone (and if I did pls let me know) – so here we go:
•    Many of our advocates (like  littlebopeep1, kali31 and shortstuff116) have been active on facebook linking to MDJunction, sharing with their friends what MDJunction is and posting on different groups.
•    YorkieLove and anamore made up flyers which they have posted in their doctor's office, grocery stores and local coffee houses (you can also download our flyer in the Spread the Word page)
•    cappymuir, libit, wildsky & Lookinglass made it a habit to talk to everyone they meet about MDJunction
•    rsdcrpsfire uses twitter and MySpace to invite people to join our community
•    sofiadragon1979 and many more told her doctor, therapist and offline groups about MDJunction and encouraged them to tell others of it too!
•    HiddenButterfly & booklady14 printed business cards with the MDJunction URL and short description, they are leaving those cards everywhere - at libraries, laundry mats and community billboards.
•    members who have personal blogs (uppitywoman & naddya819) have been writing posts and links about us
•    fluffyluggage & mitzigirl spread the word by sharing MDJ in all their social networking sites.
•    manxbailey added a signature to his email account which includes a link to MDJunction! (that's actually an easy thing to do with great results)
•    Wiggy & blondee8257 sent an email to all their contact list telling what MDJunction is and how it can help people they know

and my friends lumpybumpy, keeter and grandmasylvia (as seen bellow) who printed their own MDJunction T-shirts and wore them at the Fat Disorders Research Society 2nd annual Midwest conference !!!

so  - if you haven’t joined the MDJ advocates program, pls do!

And a BIG BIG thanks to all of you. It is heartwarming ;-)

I have been given the site out to my contacts on facebook, and to friends who are not, some of the ideas that have been listed are great and I will use them. I will certanly give the link to the medical centre I belong to, I know they will be interested, don't know why I did not think of that. smilies/cry.gif

hi roy,
never signed up for the advocacy thing; guess i didn't notice it!

DANCINGWINDE, lyme board, created her own 2010 LYME FLYER & DRS. FLYER, which i spend many hours assisting & adding more accurate info.

dancingwinde gave the main WWW.MDJUNCTION.COM site on the bottom of her flyers, and folks can search for LYME FLYER that way.

MAY IS LYME AWARENESS MONTH so members have this, have sent to others, and when i write feedback articles to NEWSPAPERS who write about lyme, i include it always in my feedback unless they do NOT permit site links in feedback!

i write many newspapers & CONGRESS on our lyme disease bills; i use direct links of our lyme activities in EACH of these also. smilies/wink.gif smilies/cool.gif

This is rockin' news, Roy! I have talked with my neurologist about MDJunction as well as my family and friends. My SIL was recently diagnosed with Lymes disease and I turned her on to MDJ. My myspace page is under construction, but there is a url link (I cannot find the code for the Advocate button) and would like to place the button on my Facebook and Twitter sites. My neuro was impressed with the number of health conditions that are covered.

So, my friend, the kudos also go to you and the rest of the MDJ admin. crew who made MDJ the happening place to be.

I'm thinking about having shirts made for my sisters for Christmas and along with the shirt, I will add one of the letters, spoon theory or one of the others. We can do sooooo much to spread awareness. I wish I could walk, because if I could I would start some kind of fibro walk in the spring or summer. I'll have to give some thought to that. I do have many illnesses though, so I would have to do something for all of them. Some more things to talk about.

Thanks Roy and Alon~You two are the best-hands down!!!!

I'm just starting as an Advocate. I live in the NYC area, the Bronx, and am working to compile an email mailing list of mental clinics, support groups, hospitals, and interested people whether mental health survivor or professional to send out a monthly newsletter to promote and inform about our great MDJ to. This is interesting and fun!! smilies/smiley.gif smilies/cool.gif

I just recently joined MDJ. I figured I'd come up with some "spread the word" ideas in the future. But the ones I read above have given me ideas how to start doing something NOW!

It was I..Grandma Sylvia in the DD group who had these shirts made. I designed them and gave them to several members. I wore them again at the next conference and even made my husband wear one! It isn't hard to design them so give it a try! I also designed and had made business cards to give out. Thanks Roy!
written by SeaOats, April 13, 2013
I sell on Zazzle [tiny tiny commission though] and ebay [845 stars and counting] If someone could point me towards some artwork [in jpeg, gif, or tif format, I could print some cards too and pass them out at school, and use them for bag stuffers for my half.com sales.
also: !!!!!!!mdj can register as a non profit on ebay and get listed&&&&&

There are some very good ideas here. I hope that you continue to have advocates supporting the site. It has surely grown from when you started, but the feeling of community is there in the forums I participate in .

Thanks!
