MDJunction to me

MissNikkiAnn"When you have an illness with the name "Non-Familial Dysautonomia" (a name that most people, and even doctors, have never heard of), you need a network
of people who understand the name and the symptoms/issues that come with it.
MDJunction led me to that network of people during a very confusing and sickly time. For this I am thankful. And for this reason I try my best to give back to other members the same care and help that I received through MDJunction.

People Helping People

I hope to share with you all the meaningful events in MDJunction, new stuff we release and the overall adventures of a regular guy who believes in People Helping People.

2010 is almost here…

Dec 20 2009

Hello MDJunction family!

So many things I want to talk to you all about… ;-)

I'll start with a BIG thank you to all our advocates. Words can not express how grateful we are to you guys! In such little time so many of you signed up and began (well… many actually continue…) spreading the word about MDJunction. I'm sure you're all feeling the impact as the groups continue to grow.

Many of our new advocates asked us to start a Fan page on Facebook to promote MDJunction. I'm pleased to say that I just start the People Helping People fan page and would love for you to become fans. You can find it at - People Helping People Fan Page .

Next thing - 'business'. We just launched a major improvement to the way you guys can control the emails from MDJunction.
We've added an 'edit' link at the top of your personal menu (on the left) to get quicker access to your profile edit settings where you can click on 'Set Email Notifications'. In addition to an improved General section we now let you choose PER group exactly how (and if) you want the emails sent to you.
In the big groups there is a post every few minutes so getting a notification for all is hard for some people, however if you're also a member of a smaller group you might want to be notified of every post there!
When you post to a discussion you can choose to subscribe to it (check box at the bottom) and with the new additions you can set it to get the subscription emails only!
Use the options to enhance your MDJ experience.

Finally Holidays & a New Year. I think I already talked about how holidays for me are bitter sweet, great fun and excitement but also a time to think and hope.
I wish you all an amazing 2010! Filled with good news and great experiences! Joy happiness and lots & lots of LOVE!

I hope to see you all next year, hear your stories, read your success, cry with you if we need to and just be friends around friends.

CU all next year

UV (& me)

Keep up the great work Roy!! We so appreciate everything you do for us. You and Alon make it possible for so many of us to come together in one area, and for that we are grateful!
That is a fantastic picture!!! She is just adorable! Time goes so fast, enjoy all you can smilies/smiley.gif

Have a wonderful holiday Roy.
I so enjoy the pictures of the most important child in your life. She is such a beauty.
Thank you for the work you do here. It has been a blessing to my life. There are few places you can openly talk about your physical and mental issues and recieve support without the eye rolling that come from family and friends.
Compassion is the heart of this site and it is rare.

I myself would like to say thank you and Alon for everything. I am so greatful that this site is here not just for myself, but for other's as well.

Without you and Alon there would probably be no MDJUNCTION and there would be no memeber's that you both have brought along.

I have been on here for two years and within the two years I have grown with all of you. Not just with happiness, love, and hope, but I had a lot of faith that goes with it.

I have learned alot and I shared a lot of stories of mine with other's and they have shared them with me. I enjoy helping other's and with this site I can do just that.

Well again keep up the good work the both of you!!!! And let's keep building this site more and more everyday. smilies/smiley.gif

Well I would love too wish you and your family, along with Alon a very Merry Christmas****And Happy and Safe New Year!!!! smilies/smiley.gif

Every new change that you come up with (WORKS) for me....

Thanks Again!!!!

Roy, you are the greatest, this site has been so helpful to so many people, thank you from the bottom of my lungs, the bottom that I can find anyway-sometime next year it really will be the very bottom.....

Have a wonderful wonderful new year, and

I adore your little angel- be sure you love her to pieces now and with good luck the adolescent years will be more bearable. But always remember there is life after adolesence, usually for both parent and child.

Roy, I don't know what I would have done over the last few weeks if I hadn't stumbled onto this site by trying to find out information on MRSA. I for sure would have been more lost that I am now. For a person to go and extra hundred miles for another as you have done is greatly appreciated.
Happy Holiday Season to you and yours and again Thank You.

Hey Roy!
Merry Merry and Happy Happy to you and yours! The little girl in the pic looks just like my youngest niece at that age! I am hoping that the new year will be more stress free than this year and I can post more often. Being an Animal Cop and all the issues with that plus trying to have a personal life sometimes leaves precious little time for anything else! You do have a good thing going here Roy and I've spread the word! Again, hoping you and yours have the best of the season!

This site has been a blessing to me in many ways; I've been able to share my story about living with IH, but have also been pointed in other directions for possible misdiagnosis. The members here are warm and caring, and reach out when dealing with their own life issues.

Thank you Roy for your words.

2010 will be very important for my projects. Pheraps an international study on my ideas will start in 2010, other experiments will be performed, other clinical studies. Not only in epilepsy, we have obtained good clinical outcomes in autism, too, and new controlled studies will be performed in this disease.

Today very important reseasrchs are intersted to my project and them are available to study the protein that I had found to treat epilepsy.

In 2010 I'll have to work more than im 2009, but my driving force is in your words: people helping people.

If some epileptics will have benefit from my work I'll be happy.

Thank you for giving me a home, a new family, a place to feel safe, and a way for me to feel needed again. Not to mention dragging me away from watching TV for far too many hours per day.

Have a happy, healthy 2010, and give UV another hug from me? smilies/wink.gif

roy and alon,

smilies/grin.gif thank you both for all the work you do on here making things better for us members!

when i logged into my home email tonight, i noticed wonderful improvements already!! u]you know show WHO posted on WHAT SPECIFIC SUBJECT, and that's a real timesaver to me!![

being notified will be wonderful as well.

2 questions for you both:
*************************

1. roy you were going to look into expanding the PM character limitation for me since i send out llmd, lyme literate md, info on names/addresses/phone nos/$$$ of appts, patient input, etc. it's 10,000 characters presently.

those states rampant with lyme disease takes 2-3 pms to send per state; smaller states are only 1 pm to send message out so no problem on them; just the LARGER states on east/west coasts.

i've spent alot of time dividing up the lists to get it down to 10,000 characters INCLUDING SPACES, so it will go.

b]just an update would be appreciated roy and alon.[

2. alon, we visited awhile back about what IF anything could be done to use a DARKER color vs. the orange color so the text SHOWS up. right now it just DISAPPEARS into the background.

again, thank you both for your LABOR OF LOVE on this site of what you 2 have developed to serve ALL HEALTH GROUPS and provide SUPPORT and education.

merry christmas and a healthier new year for us all.

yep, those photos are precious; i love the mustache/goatee myself. smilies/smiley.gif lol

Hi Roy,
Too (two) cute pictures. Thanks for sharing. I'm also a member of Teamspire. One of our 'friends' had a sister that died from NF complications. She wrote a page to all with the affliction and asked a series of questions. She has had a few people already answer her questions. I appreciate the fact that I can rant and no one will give me any guff about my problems. Thanks for being here for everyone. Happy Holidays, Hugs, Coco

Hi, I am new at this, my brother has been diagnosed with Brown-Sequard's about 4 years ago. He is slowly dieing because he has no support and I don't know how to help him. His doctors have given him oxycotton and I believe he is addicted to this drug now. His muscle spasims are who body and my heart hurts for him as he is still living in denial of the disease...I don't know what to do as I also live 3000 miles away from him and thought maybe someone from a support group could visit him and show him there is hope...He lives in Mississauga Ont and I live in Alberta Canada. At the moment he is in the hospital, has no family around him and in a great deal of pain as he fell and now has a septic infection that the doctors are majorly concerned about. I am torn and heart broken as he was such a good dad and a good man and to see (hear) of him wasting away is killing me.I don't know enough about the disease to talk to him, I am planning to talk to his doctor but not sure that he will share any info with me. I found this site and thought it can't hurt to ask...So I wait for your reply. Thank you

Happy New Year to you and your family. I look forward to participating in MDJ in 2010 and hope I don't get any more addicted than I already am. Maybe I need to join the addiction group too smilies/smiley.gif
