MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

sirocco97 MY STORY.1993 notice small white lump on head of penis.several months later diaognosed with BALANITIS XEROTICA OBLITERENS.Told that i may need to be circumcised later in life, seeing that BXO is a condition than normally affect men in their mid 60s i wasnt that worried, yet (was only 28 at the time) it was always in the back of my mind. 2011.even though the bxo would flare from time to time ,it never caused much grief ,i knew i had to be circumcised when i was older ,and it would come and go with out much drama.Until MARCH of 2011.it came back and with a vengence. APRIL 2011.Finally i realise,(with constant nagging from my wife)that this time its not playing games ,i go see my GP.she perscribes a course of anti biotics and a steroid cream ,as well as bathing the penis in a dilute solution of POTASSIUM PERMAGANATE.and tell me to come back in two weeks.

LATE APRIL 2011.i return to my GP VERY OPTIMISTIC,as far as im concerened the improvement is out of sight.an opinion not expresed by my GP DR Sally Carter,(thanks doc),she was less than happy conceding that it had improved ,but not enough ,she then refered me to DR ROBERT FORSYTH of the Ballarat urology clinic THURSDAY JUNE THE 2ND 2011.DR FORSYTH looks at my penis and straight away cancels several appointments and tells me to come back tommorow for a biopsy
FRIDAY JUNE 3.biopsy performed .

WEDNESDAY 8TH OF JUNE .DR FORSYTH calls to tell me the news isnt great.HE books me in for CT SCAN on the 20TH OF JUNE

JUNE 20 2011.CT SCAN ,results are good ,its not believed to be in my LYMPH NODES.HOWEVER I WILL NEED A CIRCUMCISION ,GLANSECTOMY AND PARTIAL PENECTOMY.I am placed on the urgent waiting list .

THURSDAY 8TH JUNE ,i answer the phone to be told my surgery is scheduled for FRIDAY THE 15 of JUNE.

THURSDAY 14 of JUNE,the wife and i decide to stay in Ballarat to avoid the 2 hour drive the following morning, that night we have a fantastic meal and make love for what may be the last time .IM GETTING FUCKING NERVOUS.

FRIDAY 15 JUNE arrive at hospital 8.00am however they are behind schedule ,and i dont go in till 15.00.TWO HOURS LATER I WAKE .I CANT FEEL MY LEGS BECAUSE OF THE EPIDURAL ,SPIAL ANESTHETIC,(that takes a day and a half to wear off ,weird feeling )and havnt eaten for 24 hours ,and a catheter bag .i spent 5 days in the BALLARAT BASE HOSPITAL and i must say the staff were fantastic .

20TH JUNE 2011.allowed to go home ,however have to return to have catheter removed in 5 days time.also a district nurse is assigned to come to my house once a day to clean wound and skin graft.

25TH JUNE.catheter removed trial of void procedure carried out .distict nurse still to come once a day till the 17TH AUGUST.told to return to hospital for a review on the 15 AUGUST.

15TH AUGUST 2011 3 specialist urologists look over me and feel that every thing is ok and do not need to see me for another 3 months,i am told however to feel around the groin and to report straight to a doctor if something feels wrong.
