Pat's days

Caregiving for my mom with alzheimers and my husband who has parkinsons, bipolar, diabetis, copd, and early heart failure is a full time job and some days seems impossible. God keeps my head above water, and this forum keeps me from screaming.

Three days till Thanksgiving

Nov 25 2008

Long day today.  I finished my sewing project and delivered it to customer. I thank God for the ability he gave me to sew and make extra money. I don't know what I would do without it.  Mom had a pretty good day, Chuck made all the cornbread for my dressing. I have to make 5 pans this year.  This is a sad time, Brian has lost 2 friends this month, both deaths were related to alcohol and drugs.  Both so young.

I hope my back holds up through the holidays. I will be getting an epidural in my neck on the 11th . Then a pain block on the 16th for my lower back. Maybe that will hold me for a while.

I have never written is a diary so I don't quite know what to write. Guess I will get better at it.

Mom's really antsy tonight , pacing from her room to the kitchen and back.  Guess I will give her something to sleep, hope she stays in bed tonight.

What a good day we had today!! All my kids and grandkids together, plus it is my oldest granddaughter's 17th birthday.
With my daughter-in-laws folks there were I think 19 of us.
We all cooked some, so no one had to do it all. Good time had by all. Mom really had a good day. She ate 4 of Annette's fried pies! The when we got home I fixed the water in the sink and mom washed what dishes were left.
