Wow, this is so exciting, to have a Lyme disease diary.
Today is my first day on 200mg doxycycline 2x a day. From June 21 until now, I've been taking only 100mg doxycycline 2x a day.
I feel very different (and much better) on the higher dose.
Symptoms:
-I have extremely itchy mosquito bites! I wonder if I am reacting differently because of my Lyme disease.
-I am experiencing anxiety of no known origin which I strongly suspect is related to my antibiotics. I can distract myself from it, however.
-I have a lot of pain, but it goes away if I take Advil or tart cherry juice. I am having about 4-5 Advils (200mg) a day, plus an average of 2 cups of cherry juice per day. That's a lot of sugar, so I'm getting cherry extract supplements in the mail soon.
-I'm taking Artemisinin (even though I tested negative for Babesia), Samento, grapefruit seed tablets (which don't taste very strong to me), and N-acetyl-cysteine. I am concerned that various vitamins and supplements I take might interfere with my antibiotics or feed the Lyme disease. I am making a point to avoid magnesium.
-I feel allergic to doing things I don't want to do. I do MUCH better when I entertain myself and live kind of hedonistically, for fun. I watch comedy, distract myself with easy-to-read books, and write on this Lyme disease site.
-It is SO good to have this community, and to talk with other people who know the truth about Lyme disease. Thanks, folks!
