How Pain Experience Impacted A Doctor's View

Feb 11 2010

We really need more people in this world like Dr. Lipsenthal.  I really appreciated reading this article & thinks that he really hit the nail on the head with his experience.

I WISH My Toaster Could Do This!

Feb 08 2010

We've all heard that animals can be very therapeutic.  What an amazing story that changed the life of a woman suffering with Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue Immune Disorder.  So much so, in fact, that Nancy Gordon started Xolos For Chronic Pain ReliefTM (X-CPRTM), which is a service dog placement program.

Toaster and Nancy were feature

Learning To Let Go

Feb 01 2010

Wouldn't it be nice if some things came naturally on there own, or we were pre-programed to be gentle with ourselves?

I've discovered that Letting Go, really is an art to be mastered;)

It is a work in progress, but I've been wanting to get a public blog started for so long!  Somewhere to create awareness and share my life experiences.

I have also posted a link to MDJunction and the Fibro Group, so hopefully people who are looking for a supportive community, will follow the link and end up at this site!&

I'm giving myself tonight...

Jan 13 2010

Tonight is one of those exceptions when I allow myself to fall apart, so I can pick up the pieces and keep fighting through this journey :(

It's amazing how easily something can reinforceyour limitations that you already thought you had accepted, or denied to yourself that you had.  Tonight I realize that I have been trying to convince myself tha

Okay, so here's the situation...

Jan 12 2010

One of my meds, and I'm guessing it's my sleeping pill is causing me to do things in my sleep.  They are mostly harmless, but still...

This is one examples of a harmless activityI do in my sleep:  I watch shows that I taped on my PVR.   It seems that I stop the show after awhile.  When we go to watch the show the next day, we discover it's either part-

Mandieluvsdogs, a members in the MDJ Fibromyalgia Group started a thread and each took their turn adding comments to the post.  Thanks for starting this Mandie...what a fun idea! Here is a collection of the contributions.  This was done in good humor.  Sometimes you have to laugh, so you won't cry! There were too many good ones, so I picked a bunch of my favorites.

Weekend Winddown

Jan 10 2010

This weekend has challenged my body and mind, but I survived! lol

The weather has been messing with my body this weekend.  Isn't it wonderful to be able to predict the weather beforeyou even open your eyes?  At least you can plan ahead what to wear!  Yesterday morning I awoke with a pounding head in addition to the regular daily dose of agony an

Jan 08 2010

I was so overwhelmed by the positive responses from yesterday's entry.  Thank you so much for your kind words in your comments, on the boardand (this spot on every entry doesn't make a space between the words...just saying...lol) the messages that were sent to me.  I was truly moved.

All the chatting about appreciating the important things in life, got me thinking t

Jan 07 2010

Too proud not to share, but if my son busts me, I'll be disowned for ever...or at least until tomorrow ;)  Today was my boy's 8th birthday and he woke up with a "am older now" charm.  Was sweet as pie to his little sister, whom he normally loves to bug (brother and sisterly love...lol) and was just being the most charming boy.  It was actuall

Time goes by so quickly!

Jan 07 2010

Last night, I started reflecting on where I was 8 years ago.  Heading into the hospital to have my son...lol.  It is his birthday today.  Seems like the last 8 years have gone byin record time!  At the same time, it seems like forever ago, and that so much has happened in our lives since!

Today I remember that I had started a journal, written to my son that I stop

Good Day

Jan 04 2010

It has been a long day, but a good one.  So good in fact, I could barely contain my happiness.  It is actually extremely rare that I get to experience "good days" that I get overwhelmedwith emotions :)

I managed to get a few things done around the house.  We certainly aren't talking major improvements, but little things that make a difference when you ad

It feels so good to have gotten all of our Christmas decorations down

I have been napping or in the horizontal position all day.

I wish we had just one more day this weekend, before m

Goodbye 2009

Dec 31 2009

Only a couple of hours left until we say goodbye to 2009 and welcome
in 2010. I'm in too much pain right now to even interpret how I feel
about this New Year rolling in...  2009 has been a difficult year in
so many ways, but I made it ;) I'm hoping and praying that 2010 will
be better. That things might be a bit easier to deal with and pieces

First Entry

Dec 30 2009

I've decided it's time to make an attempt at blogging here.  For years I was an avid "journaler" and somehow I slipped out of it, and want to get back into it ;)
