My senior year in high school, 1993, i was diagnosed with narcolepsy and cataplexy. Since i can remember, i have wanted to be an astronaut and even though i still want to do that, it will probably never happen because of the narcolepsy. the meds i have taken over the years has now put me at a point where i need to loose atleast 120 pounds and all of my teeth are root-canaled and crowned costing over $60,000. i am getting ready for another $15,000 in dental work because my jaw bone is deteriorating. i have most recently been undergoing biofeedback treatments and it is making a difference. i finally got my associates degree and am getting ready to start school for my bachelors degree. i have a 5 year old daughter who does not understand "why mommy sleeps so much." my parents are my support. they have been there for me through everything. there are no words to explain how greatful i am to have them. they still dont totally understand what my life is like, even though they have been there every step of the way over the last 15 years. i just dont understand why this had to happen to me. i try to tell myself that god would not put me through something that i can not handle and everything he puts me through makes me a stronger person.
