MISERABLE OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEK-END

I am miserable with IBS and it is the holiday. I want to feel better. I have tried not to complain, but I am just not with it and I just want to be alone.

i know how you feel. i'm not dealing with IBS, but i am dealing with withdrawl from pain killers, and i am hating the world right now. of course it's a holiday and EVERYONE wants to get together.

I am sorry you are suffering. Make sure your IBS isn't actually a small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. The immunosuppressants can cause it. It causes major nutrient malabsorption and a high percentage of ibs suffers respond to antibiotics for Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth.

Thank you Bellaitalia - Getting off pain meds is horrible. I have two close relatives who went through that. Hang in. You can do it. It is very frightening, but pray. I don't know what faith you are, but when I am panicked the Rosary helps me. Just repeating the prayers and using the beads relaxes your mind. I will include you and your struggle in my prayers. Also, don't blame yourself. Guilt just leads to more cravings, etc. Most people in America today are struggling with some type of substance withdrawal and many are from pain killers following an injury or illness.

Thank you Dizziebeth. I was tested for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. They have put me on Align for restoration of good bacteria. I have been on antibiotics for most of my life off and on and it destroys the good bacteria and the bad proliferates.
