MDJunction to me

JoSh11"MDJunction is at least as big a part of my healing as the medications I take. Finding others with the same health challenges has truly been a Godsend. The support & information I receive here give me the courage to stand up for my needs in social situations, as well as the techniques & references to help my friends & family understand this Invisible Chronic Illness." CorvetteGirl My Dad was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer at the age of 66. His gleason score is 7 (3 + 4). He has chosen to have surgery to remove the entire prostate. We both feel this is the best option in his case. His bone scan & CT scan show no signs of cancer. To have the surgery is the only way to be "cancer free". I know just writing about this will help us and hope it can help others too.

Catheter is out

Jul 25 2012
Dad got his catheter out yesterday. He says it didn't hurt like he was expecting it to. It stung for just a few seconds and just like that it was out. He is learning how to get his "control" back, but for the first day it went pretty well. We are both so thankful that so far everything has went better than expected. Thank you all for your support.

Hopefully, with the catheter out the worst is over for your father and it's a smooth ride to recovery from now on!

I am post surgery about 8 months....after the catheter came out i gradually gained control over my bladder. It took about 3 months to get it completely back with a lots of kegel exercises. On occasion I still have an issue but rarely. I am 59y/o white male, good physical condition in general.. Just be patient....and keep working with the exercises..
