Ten Thought Tuesday
*
1. What more can I lose? So far I have lost the clip on sunglasses, the glasses themselves, my credit card, several phone numbers for providers for the twins, binkies for Mr. Bug…….. The next thing you know, I will lose my mind.
*
Oh, yeah, I already lost that.
*
2. Gas Prices – they should call it Gas Gouging! With all the millions/billions in profit that companies (Like Exxon) are making, just who are the gas hogs?
*
3. Continuing on the Gas Thought. I don’t know about anyone else, but we (DH and I ) are spending over $120 a week in gas. Mind you, My commute is only 32 miles round trip but I have several days where I return home, pick up a child and come back towards my office for him to have either OT or PT.
*
DH, on the other hand, drives 50 miles round trip and is in stop and go traffic (something I am never in unless there is an accident) every night.
*
We would be more than happy to take public transportation but, in my case, there would only be a $1 a day savings and it would triply my commute time (as well as make it impossible for me to take my son to his appointments).
*
DH, on the other hand, would save $5 a day, however, there is no direct way to take the public transportation, without driving half way to the office. Then, the public transportation would triply his commute from that point to his work.
*
What is a person to do?
*
Well, we are cutting back on a lot of things:
Store bought waffles – I will have to make and freeze.
Any pre-packaged food – no more flavored pasta in a box, no more veggies with any kind of sauce on them…….everything will have to be home-made.
*
We are probably going to have to let our beautiful lawn go as they are talking about charging people, who use more water than others, a different fee scale. All I can say to that is I am glad we now have an HE dishwasher and I am also glad that the boys can still all take a bath together. (next on the list will have to be an HE washing machine and an Instant Hot Water device)
*
I have to take care of the 14 charts that are just sitting here, due to my own procrastination. I have a one year review on Thursday and everything has to be taken care of, cleaned up and put away for my supervisor.
*
Did I mention that I will be getting a raise this year? A whole 3% (something like $25 per paycheck). Whoo Hoo, maybe that will offset the price of gasoline – NOT!!!!
*
Well, not only have I forgotten to number my thoughts (after 3) but I am sure, if I were to backtrack, and count, I would have more than 10 by now.
*
siiiiighhhhhh
