MoB's Hurting Heart

I am here because I am seeking out support for myself, my husband, my children.......

Two of our sons have been diagnosed ASD.  Our third son is going to be evaluated soon.

Bothmy parents, and my husband's parents are in denial about the diagnosis.

We have seen a distancing, of our friends, from us and we feel that it is because of the diagnosis, the time we spend in taking care of our sons (doesn't leave much free time to socialize) and many other related reasons.

The closest support group, to where we live, is not very close at all.

So, for my family, I have turned to the internet for support.

I am hoping that I will find that here.

welcome friend,loving parent and carer

this is a sfe place with no judgement we all suffer from different things ranging from all ages so its a great place to get all aged advice and the right place to really get into the feelings and thoughts department.
We have fantastic group leaders here like carmen and well they are our saviours a lot of the time but remember no matter where you are int he world someone is always awake somewhere else in the world that will listen .. here.

welcome and explore and ask as many questions as you need there are no dumb question just sometimes blunt and mixed replies.

Denial is a river in Egypt!
written by MamabearNYC, February 13, 2008
Dear MoB,

Talk about denial--my mother, my son't father, and my boyfriend are all in denial about my son's autism. Judge Judy says "Denial is a river in Egypt!" The boat's getting pretty full in my part of the river. I guess it comes with the territory (or with some people). I think in the case of my son's father and my mother, they look on it as a reflection of themselves somehow, as though his autism is an indication that their contribution to the gene pool may have been less than perfect.

Stay strong!

Hugs,
Mama Bear
