My son Brady (4) was in the emergency room the other night with croup. Since then the croup is better, but he is still coughing and has a fever. He is on antibiotics, but I'm guessingwe'll be in to see the pediatrician before the week is over.
My daughter Morgan (2) has the cough and is working on a elevated temperature which is creeping up near the "fever range".
I also have a cough and stuffed sinuses; and some green gook; but no fever yet. My neighbor has strep throat which is supposedly going around with the croup. So hopefully we don't get that, but I think I may have a sinus infection.
When I was on chemo it seems like I was constantly battling sinus infections. I no longer have low white blood cell counts; but I think treatments have left me with a weakened immune system even if my blood counts are normal!
As we are entering the cold/flu season I hope everyone is washing their hands and reminding anyone that is potentially contagious to stay away! ER visits and hospitalizations are not fun!
I've been skipping PT all week and skipped my zometa infusion today (doc said its ok as long as I don't skip herceptin). So hopefully some rest will help, although I've been eating entirely too much ice cream since it feels so good on my throat (at least that is what I tell myself!)
