I am a bit overwhelmed here and all I can say is Wow.
A few weeks ago my son got here. That has been pretty stressful especially since my mom died around the same time. And my daughtergot engaged. So it has been crazy here. Thankfully, I went back to see my doctor about a week ago.
She said I am weird (like I needed a doctor to t ell me that) because I have a lot of things going on, only one of which is fibromyalgia. I am still trying to wrap my brain around it all. Next time I am bringing a notebook so I can remember everything. Here is the rundown:
*She strongly feel s that I am in the early stages of lupus. Too early to treat since I don't "officially" have enough symptomps yet.
*I have an arrhythmia in my heart, which is why I have been having chest pains for years that all my doctors have ignored.
*I have a chronic viral something-or-other (can't remember what she called it) which is why I am so exhausted. My body has apparently been fighting a chronic virus for a very long time. My EBV was through the roof.
*My thyroid is sluggish.
*My blood pressure is very low.
She changed most of my meds so now I have oxycodone (which I am scared to take) two muscle relaxers (one she said is what they give people with MS), a thyroid medication and prednisone. And don't you know how thrilled I am to be gaining weight with the prednisone (yes, I am being sarcastic).
She said if the steroid works she will definately diagnose me with--something. I can't remember what she said. See why I need a notebook? She also wants to test me for Lyme's disease.
She told my husband that I am very sick and that I am the most stoic person she has ever met. We discussed moving out of Florida but she asked that we stay at least long enough for her to come to a complete diagnosis and a treatment plan. That way I have something to give my new doctor. I think that sounds like a great idea. :) I'm so glad she is figuring things out.
So, wow. That's lots of stuff. My head is spinning. Still. She did also give me a B12 shot. I have to say that I felt great for a few days. Like my brain was working again. It gives me a bit of hope actually. Like maybe I can get some of my old life back again.
She said that once the thyroid medicine starts working I will feel a lot better and should even lose some weight (woohoo!) so I am anxious for that. Unfortunately, right now I am sick again. Flu maybe. So it may take longer than anticipated to start seeing improvement. I'll try to be patient though. What else can I do?
