Don't you just love all the testing? lol! I am not complaining as I'm glad my drs are taking my symptoms seriously. But I did laugh when I got my paperwork for my next testin the mail this week, and it wasn't one test, but FOUR! LOL! On March 13th (hope that's not unlucky!) I will have the cardiopulmonary exercise testing, another spirometry pre & post bronchidilator (keep telling them it is NOT my asthma & I so hate the albuterol shakes!), a residual volume lung volume test, and a carbon monoxide diffusing capacity test. That comes to a grand total of 3 hours worth of testing! Whew! Fortunately it's at the hospital, which is reassuring since I tend to have trouble breathing with cardio.
My other big concern is that I am hypoglycemic and they originally wanted me to do the cardio test at 10am with only a light breakfast. Yeah, right. That may land me in the hospital faster than my MG! Fortunately I got them to reschedule the test for 8:30, so only an hour and half after breakfast, which I'm eating my normal breakfast. It is about the time I have my morning snack, but hopefully they will let me have it between tests. If they don't, then that albuterol test is going to kill me between the low blood sugar shakes and the albuterol shakes!
I had to call my neuro's office and give them a piece of my mind on Friday. I showed up at the lab for my weekly bloodwork since I'm on cellcept, and they had no order from the neuro's office. UGH! I was livid. I stopped by on my way to work, so I wasted that time, plus all the extra walking. I left a VM and let them know, as nicely as possible, that this is ridiculous! There has been a problem EVERY single time they've had to schedule anything for me. This time they blamed their new computer system. Working in IT myself for a major corporation, I blasted their IT department for not thoroughly testing the system before releasing it into use (production). Fortunately my neuro & the lab are in the same building so they nice person that returned my call said she would walk my orders down there. Now I get to go by there in the morning (Monday), providing the snow we are forecasted to get doesn't kill the morning commute! :-)
