I am so confused
Nov 20 2008
I am so confused with all this social security bs that I dont know what to do. I just got a new job cuz i was fired from my last job and social security never told me that I couldnt work but someoneinformed me that to get on ssi that you cant work so this is hard to figure out what to do. I just worrying that i am not going to get social security and will have to go get a lawyer to help me with this. I dont want to do that but I dont know what to do anymore. technically I am not working  cuz I am waiting to for them to switch me over to active. But I dont know i should quit and get unemployment or talk to the social security department and get this straightened up so I dont have to fight this.

if I were you, I would find out for sure the rules with SSI before you do anything.

I am not sure if there is a dif for dif areas but I was on SSI and am now on SSDI. You have to have been out of work for a certain amount of time. That is the reason you get SSI is because you cant work. But they will back pay the work time you were out.
