Recently I got an email from a woman in Germany, desperately seeking advice on how to communicate with her BiPolar friend who is acting 'strange' (Imagine That!). I get at leasta dozen of these type of emaials a day from my art web site (The Bio section, where I candidly talk about my depression).
Anyway, I responded to her in my blog. Check it out if you arre interested.

Amazing Blog Entry

I'm new to this site and am in search for answers on how to deal with someone I know with this disorder. The unfortunate thing is that this person is not someone I wish to have in my life, they are obsessive and possibly a threat to my family and I. After reading your blog entry, I know that I did the right thing with this person who suffers from bipolar disorder. I basically did exactly what your girlfriend did to you. And if you were able to find the strength in yourself to get through those hard times and being responsible for your life, there is no reason anyone with this disease can't do it! Also, amazing how you handled your son, because boundaries are extremely important in everyday life, not just in this scenario.
Kudos to you!

well this i feel is a very tricky one to answer and i think you handled it very well.
I honestly believe that friends all react differently when faced with a mate whom has bipolar or depression or some form of menatl illness. The stigma that surrounds us is quite stigment at times.
I find that if my friends just let me know they are there if i need to talk or go out to lunch or something does wonders.
Also taking up some physiacal activities also together is amazing for the body and mind.
But seriously you handled it well and you can always tell them about this site regurally and let them have a look and make their own decisions.
take care and i look forward to reding more of your posts and on your site. Nice art work too...
