Stupid Doctors |

I went to the pain clinic on Thursday and as soon as the doc came in I knew I was in trouble. He had not looked over any of the records my rhuemy sent to him and when I told him I was there becauseof fibro he told me that nothing he could give me would help. Then he tried to tell me that it was my tricor and zocor causing my pain and I told him nope that I have had the pain long befor I was put on those meds, then he tells me that he thinks I have something other than fibro, he wanted to schedual a muscle biopsy, I said NO, I told him I already have a doc treating my fibro and that is not what I came to him for, then he decides to examine me, He was not gentle at all he had me in tears and then he took a little hammer and proceeded to check my reflexes, after he whacked me a couple of times I was hurting sooo bad that I drew back my fist and told him if he hit me one more time I was gonna lay him out in the floor, so he stopped. After all that he prescribed me Topamax and told me to come back in a month. I called my rhuemy the next day and he was furios, he is now setting me up with a different pain clinic, so I hope it goes better with this one.

Wow. Isn't it incredible? Can you imagine going to work to solve problems, but not looking first at the list of problems? I do not get why doctors do not look at charts ahead of time. I do not get why then they won't even listen. I would think that at least a pain clinic would by now be catching onto our whole 'syndrome' which is pain, pain and more pain. I haven't been to a pain clinic yet. The dr. I am dealing with in neurology doesn't think that it would do any better. yeah. Maybe he's right! I hope she's wrong.

My pain clinic and rheumy are one and the same and he has helped me already without laying a hand on me. He sent me for an MRI and found some things wrong so I get an epidural cortisone shot for my lower back this Friday. He is Chinese though and they are very good. He also does tender point injections, acupunture, etc.

I wish I could go to a doctor who does it all. I know Chinese doctors are very good at medicine. As well as the Arab doctors. My doctor is Arab and he is very good. I've been seeing him for years. When I went to him with this pain a little over a year ago, he immediately wanted me to go to a rheumy but I refused for a while then the pain went all over and the meds he gave me were not working, I decided to go. I went to one who I didnt like so I switched and this new rheumy is good but I rather go to a pain management doctor but my rheumy is reluctant.
