My day by day feelings life journeys

3-11-12

Mar 11 2012

Well I ended up going to the emergency room because my feet swelled up more and I have been on the two diuretics for two days now. At the emergency room they ran a bunch of different blood tests onmy kidneys, my liver, did an x-ray of my lungs and an IV of another diuretic. I felt light headed after that so they ran saline solution to give me a happy medium and make my blood pressure go back to normal. The damn doctor was an asshole. He straight out told me I needed to lose weight, which of course I know this but with being in pain all the time and the side effect of most of my meds being weight gain its almost impossible. He sat there and told me that I would be in congestive heart failure within a matter of years with getting edema at my young age of 41. He literally had me in tears. Needless to say hubby and I are having a healthy salad for dinner. But being low income its not always easy to eat healthy either. I think I am going to check and see if I qualify for the lapband and see if medicare/medicaid will cover it. That did put fear in me, but he didn't have to do it like he did. It really hurt. I wish the swelling in my feet would go down. I have never had this problem before until the past several weeks. Sorry I am just rambling......

Dont ever let anyone make you feel that way. Alot of MD's are a holes. I had to go to the er a couple of weeks ago due to nausea and vomiting and my potassium being low. After the MD came in and started talking to me and found out I had fibro and on nucynta he automatically said my problem was narcotic withdrawals. He even called my pain MD about this and I had to drug test when I went back there. I felt horrible and did not take up for myself much. I am overweight to and they try to blame my pain on that alot. Sorry you had to go through this

Please do not listen to this jerk. What was he? A body builder? Even if he had been, he is wrong on so many levels. My wife gets this crap from some doctors too. I would love to help this guy see the light. People who think all the crap they sell is gold should be forced to eat it. He's got you thinking of a lap band?!!! PLEASE don't even think of it as an option. If I have to, I will tell you some real horror stories about those. You do not even want to hear them, much less live them.

What is the purpose of health except to make us live longer? Think amount a good life, not a long miserable one. This twit will die too. I hope he finds his own personal hell.

I am so sorry you had an awful experience. Please realize not all
"medical professionals" are professional. Listen to your heart and those that love and care about you not some ER MD that doesn't know you. Grab your power back and not give it a way to some jerk just'cuz he has MD after his name. Many, many gentle hugs. -Mary

I am so sorry you went through that with that so called dr. He had no right talking to you like that. Dont let him scare you into lapband surgery I can tell you what happen to me after having the surgery and a friend of mine. Even though they make it look so easy the long term is what they dont tell you and the risk you take having it. Im here if you ever want to talk.

Hugs Mary
