meds make me feel dull |
Jul 06 2012 |
all i take is gabaentin, which nothing compared to some off the stuff others take here, it makes me tired and dull all the time, now i feel addicted to it, i am not motived, and do not want to excise or ride my motorcycle. i will wean off it i think. who needs meds or they just drugs, pot or anything else works same way, even beer. what is sense of taking something like this to feel so down, i like the hypomania feeling, at least i feel alive, i have never been in hospital or had the same reactions of others here. maybe i am not bipolar, just a little out of balance from ptsd, i know doctors do not know everything, and make lots of mistakes , they are human. well i am going to do less and less . see what happens , i know i can do it.
where is mania when i need it?

Iken
I was on Gabapentin for 3 years, but it was for nerve pain for my past injuries , where I developed RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy)
I can tell you that in the beginning, that is a usual side affect. But Whats worse is for me ...I ended up having Seizures after taking it for 3 years. This is not common, but it can happen. So , yes I called my Dr. (Rheumatologist) and he told me to start weaning very slowly. So it took a month for me to wean off. And yes I don't have anymore seizure episodes ..its funny how this med is actually prescribed for Seizures in the first place too.. But either way (For Me) I won't ever take it again.

Hope it works for you! Nobody wants to have bi-polar disorder. Less meds the better, no meds is mo better!

Finding the right combination of food, medication, exercise and social activities, and counseling is a great approach.
You need a doctor that knows everything you are taking since so many drugs offset or don't perform well when used with others.
Anytime you start medicating outside the prescription to try to feel emotionally better is a bad sign. Sometimes you have to try several combinations or products to achieve desired results
