Chicken Soup for the Soul

Apr 03 2009

I notice there's a plethora of Chicken Soup books out there and not one for FM so I wrote Jack Canfield an email with a suggestion for one.

Here is a copy of my email

Dear Jack,

I have no idea where else to present this idea but I love your books, they are very inspirational.  I was hoping you could do one for those of us battling Fibromyalgia.  We are a large group of people who are in a war with our own bodies and with those in our lives who don't understand why we have changed so drastically.  And with the medical community that often makes light of our affliction.  I belong to and am a group leader of a large FM support group and we get and give each other so much encouragement that is nearly as important as any medical treatment we will ever find.
Thank you for your consideration.
God Bless,
Laura C

Let's keep our fingers crossed that it becomes a reality.

The other day I was just thinking that there needs to be a Chicken Soup for the Soul about Fibromyalgia. I would be willing to submit a story, as I have had fibromyalgia for about 40 years and developed it as a child. The doctor called it rheumatism at that time as it had not been named fibromyalgia yet. My daughter who is 14 was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year after years of trying to get a diagnosis.

What a brilliant idea!! It's about time people took our problems seriously. It's like, "If you don't look sick, then you can't be sick". Proud of you! smilies/cheesy.gif
