Rough past few days

Trichotillomania and HS both returned with a vengeance the last few days. Flare up under my right arm this time, and I've been attacking my eyelashes. Blah. Not to mention I have a huge test comingup in a couple weeks. Spirits low, but I'll get through it.

Hand Sanitizer and Rant

Good Monday =)

Life's going okay. I bought some hand sanitizer. It's got the Ethyl Alcohol in it but also has some Aloe Vera. Hoping this helps out my HS.

Breaking away from healthrelated issues for a moment and turning to my rant about family. I realize alcoholism is a huge illness. But. Enough is enough. My brother has been to every rehab, been in prison for years, and of course even after 3 years sober (in prison), the first thing he does is get a beer when he gets out. [...]

Trichotillomania acting up again.

Title says it. I've been very good for quite a while, but I've been attacking my eyelashes again. Not sure what started it again. Yes, I do have stresses, but... I've been so good! I havea new bald spot on my right eyelid now, missing quite a few eyelashes. Trying to wear some mascara today... It's helping a little. I hate the feeling of mascara on my fingers, so it's really discouraging me from pulling.

I watched this video on youtube... Her name is Beckieo, a [...]

Dissapeared for quite a while there...

I think it's been four days since I've been on here. The huge flareup under my arm is almost gone, but I've been dealing with it on my inner thighs now. The one under my arm didn't smell, but when the one on my inner thigh opened up - holy hell. I've never smelled something so rancid in my life. (Aside from the dead cats we had to dissect in college.)

Hoping to be able to get some hand sanitizer and tea tree oil soon. Watching what I eat, so I will understand what ha [...]

Relief, sweet relief.

I did one of the biggest no-nos of HS last night - I tried to drain it myself. Stupid, I know. Let's just say, that it is confirmed that no matter what you do, it won't drain until it'sready. Well, I was wondering, "Is the scab I created last night the only thing holding all that badness in?" It was. As soon as I punctured the scab, it drained. I feel a thousand times better, and am looking forward to actually sleeping tonight.

Still continuing my Turmeric regime. [...]

Doing a little better tonight =)

It still hurts, and hasn't drained yet, but the pain has gone down quite a bit. Usually when this happens, it means it's close to draining. I'm keeping up with the hot packs. I am not aheat loving person, even in the winter I prefer to be cold rather than hot, but the intense relief it brings is amazing.

Thankful for this support group. Everyone I've encountered is amazing. Just knowing there's people out there who understand.... When I complain to my family, t [...]

Worse tonight....

I have an abscess under my left arm. It's about 1" wide and about 2-2.5" long. So incredibly painful, I can hardly stand it. The only thing that makes it feel better is to heat up a moistwashcloth in a plastic baggie, 20ish seconds. It's getting annoying, having to heat it up every 10 minutes. Dreading trying to sleep tonight.

Dear higher universe power: Please, please let it drain tonight. I can't handle much more of this.

Turmeric - Miracle cure?

I know there is no cure for HS. However, I read through seven pages on earthclinic, and at least 95% of the HS sufferers that tried Turmeric reported great results, some of them even went into remissionand were released from their doctor's care. I have started this tonight: 2 capsules by mouth (500mg each) plus I opened a couple up and mixed warm water with the powder, creating a paste, and put it directly on the very large and painful abscess. Within 2 hours, the pain has diminished slig [...]

Introduction

Hello. I decided it would help me to record my dealings with the skin disease known as Hidradenitis Suppurativa. For those who don't know, it is an extremely painful, awful, embarrassing disease. It causes abscesses all over the body, and some cases may be more severe than others.
<p style="height: auto !important; width: auto !important; overflow-x: visible; ove [...]
