I feel like we're just going in unending circles. AAARRGGHHH!!! He's having serious incontinence issues - to the point of literally leaving 'trails' throughout the house - and he refusesto deal with it or even acknowledge it. Newsflash, dh, it CAN'T be the dog...she can't reach the toilet! (Yet the evidence mysteriously does.) He has admitted that this has gone on 'occasionally' for a year or so, unbeknownst to me. That is, until he could no longer hide the evidence. But now it's almost everyday, and more often than not, bm's. How can he be having these explosive bm's when he's not taking Lactulose or any other diurectics? He also has stopped eating, except for an occasional cracker w/peanut butter or cheese. And only a couple of those a day; otherwise, he lives on alcohol & Ensure.
Maybe that's what's causing the incontinence, but his dr. thinks there's something else wrong, and she wants him to have a colonoscopy. I agree. Not that what we think matters. He absolutely refuses to have the test, or any test, for that matter. He knows the test is painless - he's watched me go through it a hundred times. Understandably, he's completely humiliated by this incontinence, but apparently not enough to do something about it. He's had very noticeable 'accidents' in public as well as at home, and naturally he was extremely embarrassed by them.
It must be nice to be able to stick his head in the sand(box) and pretend nothing is wrong, while I, however, follow him around with a scrub brush and carpet cleaner, bathroom cleanser, etc. Not to mention all the underwear he's thrown away, trying to hide the evidence from me.
What if it's esophageal (sp?) bleeding, or cancer or something serious?
