Something's Not Right...

Mom is feeling worse.  Every new symptom (or set of symptoms) is seemingly brushed off as another manifestion of the rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease combo.  The doctor's seem so convinced of this fact that no additional testing has been performed.

 RA, being an immune system disease, has the ability to affect vital organs and cause cancer..

My latest endeavor into trying to understand the RA process is trying to understand cytokines, which came up in searches I performed relating to the inflammation process.  Cytokines are small proteins that are secreted to control/regulate immunity, inflammation and the formation and development of blood cells.

According to the Mayo Clinic the following are currently believed to be possible causes of FM:

Central sensitization: changes in brain chemistry (between neurotransmitters andneurons).  Repeated nerve stimulation actually causes the brains of ppl w/fibro to change.

Sleep disturbances:  disturbed sleep patterns may be a cause
