MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

Just when you think

Feb 04 2009

Just when you think the world has gone to hell in a hand basket... I went to my work today because i had recieved the doctors note allowing me to go back with some restrictions and felt it was not a letter to fax over to them it needed a personal face to face meeting...so i headed down to work (30 minute drive which i havent done since november) and hoped for the best... I walked in to work and AM was walking towards the front and was shocked to see me and said HI! OMG How are you? (this kind gesture scares me LOL) so told him hanging in there and he went on his way i made it slowly to the back of the building(which seemed like a million years) feeling like i was a million years old... and found to my luck our HR person was in our store today and the Store manager also.. Woot two for the price of one...So I found my HR person first Lorrie.. i came around the corner and her eyes lit up and said OMG Look who is here! She came right over and hugged me (which hurt but it was still nice) and said how are you we missed you etcetc... so we went to her office and the store manger just happened to knock on her door and  he was surprised too to see me :)

he said yo be here for a few i said yep just got here going over things with Lorrie he was like great BRB... was like lol ok.. he comes back with two envelopes in his hand... the first was a card signed by all my friends.. I was touched... and then he hands me the other envelop and said You family here raised this for you and you will get a second one from the company to your house that matches it... I bursted out in tears... the gesture was so incrediable and the heartwarming feeling was over whelming.. lol he says heyhey no crying allowed lol i said  they are tears of happiness and graditude... thank you.. he said i know it has to be tough and we care.. i lost it all over again lol.. and then after i finished with lorrie and know what paperwork has to be filled out and how and by whom lol i head towards the front of the building stoping in areas to say hi and thank you to my friends.. they were so happy to see me and where happy to help..That my friends is true work family...they may not understand.. but they try anyways.. the outing was only 3 hours long and i have only been home 45 minutes...in pain with my heating pad...knowing i am missed and loved at work makes all the pain worth it..

So we will see if they honor all the accomadations which is only like 3 minor things to make me confortable and able to work...so i may not be going back on the 9th but it will be soon :)...All i can say it was Heart warming :)
