Pain killers

Jun 30 2012
So, last night (in the middle of the night.. not so bright as I now realize), I finally broke down and took an Ultram to relieve some of this unrelenting pain.  Welllll.... yes it has eased my pain,  but I HATE the dizziness that I still have some 8 hours later. Got out of bed this morning and nearly fell over.  Had to lay back down. So bad that I actually have some weird visual stuff going on.  Of course it being Saturday, I have errands to run, but there's no way I can  drive. Plus, with husband working, I have to take care of my youngest.. can't lay back down.  I feel horrible, wish I hadn't taken it, and will make sure I don't again.  Personally, I'd rather have pain than feel like this.    Hopefully within a couple more hours I'll feel better.  Sheesh.

Seems we are damned if we do and damned if we don't.
And it is so, but not for long cause we figure out ways to be neither.
My dear friend, can you take half? Does the pain med help a little or alot? Have you tried any others?
I know you are in a great deal of pain often. I know you have (and rightly so) concern for your family/job when you take your pain meds. I, also, know until your body becomes used to them it is near impossible to function in a job/family.
It took awhile for my body to adjust to my pain meds (I take hydrocodone), but it did. I can (if I was able) drive, cook, etc. In other words I can function fully. Pain is controlled and mind is clear.
But, it took time before body/mind adapted to this.
I pray you will find a balance between pain meds/pain/and funtioning well.

That diziness is awful! Tramadol makes the room move all around me an be very nauseous. But hydrocodone or oxycodone don't make me dizzy. If any, very slightly nauseous depending on dose. Have you tried those. You deserve some pain managment that helps you and helps you be more functional (without the extra trouble!). Hope you are better now!
