Disability/Medicare/Medicaid Info.

Jan 26 2011

1. Security Disability info.

Betty provided this list of SSDI Blue Book definitions of disabilites:

 http://www.ssa.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/12.00-MentalDisorders-Adult.htm

2. Medicare Info.

 a. Articles on difference between Medicare and Medicaid

Thanks Carol for allerting to this. Thought I would post some info here for anyone who is interested.

Basically, Online sites describe Medicaid as a state run program that is partially funded by theFederal Government.

Apparently each state sets its requirements for eligibility for Medicaid, and it is usually reserved for the very lowest income people. Like you say Carol, people on Welfare or SSI.

Here are some helpful links.

What if you were approved for medicaid because you are disabled. But having gotten any other benifits yet.Im not the only one that i know this has happened to.The people I know that had the same thing happen to them also got approved for ssdi an ssi three months after getting medicaid. To some of you that are trying to get ssi or ssdi an cant work. You need to go to your dss office an apply if you have proof showing you are disabled you can get it on the first try.If turned down, appeal it.90% madicaid appeals win long as you got strong me records. If you do get approved for medicaid you shoud also in 90 days get approved for ssdi or ssi.
