I’m going to try to explain CF in easy terms for everyone to understand what it is (a beginners intro).
Cystic fibrosis is one of the most common life-shortening diseases. In the United States, 1 in 3,900 children are born with CF. It is most common among western European populations.
One in twenty-two people of Mediterranean descent are carriers of one gene for CF, making it the most common genetic disease in these populations. Cystic Fibrosis is very common in the UK where Ireland has the highest rate of CF carriers in the world.
