Hi. My name is Paul. My wife, Karen, has Bipolar Disorder. She had been
basically stable throughout our 20 years of marriage, until last fall, when
she became manic, paranoid and delusional. It took six hospitalizations, but
we finally found the right medications to stabilize her, and she is doing
very well now.
This manic episode led me to learning all I could about the disease, and in
doing so, I found MDJunction. It has been terrific. All of the great people
here, along with my wifes family, led me thru the darkest days of my life. I
am eternally thankful.
I came to MDJunction in desperate need of support, advise and understanding,
but have transistioned to now offering these things. I get great
satisfaction from it.

Hello, I a 42 year old spouse of a wife with bipolar. We have been married for 25 years and together for 27. We have 2 adult children (22 & 24) and 2 grandchildren (2 & 5).
My wife was diagnosed with bipolar 8 years ago and has been stable for 1 year now with the aid of good doctors, therapists, and medication regiment. She is Bipolar II (rapid cycling) with personality disorders and OCD. God has seen my wife and I through all of the things we have endured for a reason.
To help others trying to run the gauntlet I should think is a fitting use of the experience rendered unto us.

I enjoy reading, horse racing and not dealing with hurricanes (already have enough drama in my life, thanks!). I am also a cancer survivor, diagnosed with melanoma in 2005.
